School Library

The School Library is an excellent resource and is at the ‘hub’ of learning at The Sele School.  This facility encompasses an ICT Suite, soft seating and wide variety of books and e-readers.  It is well used by our school community and is highly rated by students.

The Library stocks a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, reference materials and periodicals.  The stock is carefully selected to support both teaching and student needs for the National Curriculum.  Senior students studying in the Sixth Form have unlimited access to these facilities.

Students are encouraged to use the Library/Resources Centre during lesson times, at break, lunchtimes and after school. Help is on hand in the Library every day to assist students to work independently.

There is also a supervised Homework Club Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 3.30 – 4.30 pm and Tuesday and Friday 3.00 – 4.00 pm which is open to all students.

All students may borrow up to three books at a time for two weeks.   Students are encouraged to use the Library for study, homework and leisure reading.  The Library provides a space for all in which to develop the skills needed for a lifetime of independent learning.
