Sixth Form Study Leave

Parents and carers of Key Stage 5 Students will be aware that study leave has been granted to Sixth Form Students with effect from Monday 13 May 2019 until Friday 28 June 2019.

This means that Year 12 and 13 Students will only be expected to be in school for their timetabled lessons, exams, revision classes and booster classes. There will be no morning form time and Students will be expected to sign in at reception when they arrive in school and to sign out when they leave the school premises.

However, if they would prefer, Students are welcome to continue to revise and study at school rather than take study leave; the Library will be made available for any Student requiring a study area. For Students who take study leave, it is essential that they use their time efficiently and effectively, revising and completing any work their teachers set.

Failure to meet teacher expectations and work deadlines will result in the privilege of study leave being revoked for that Student. In such a case, the Student will have to attend school for the normal school hours of 8.40 am to 3.25 pm, reporting to Mrs Lee at the start and end of each school day.

Year 12 students will return to normal school hours on Monday 1 July 2019.

Year 13 students will finish their school year on Friday 28 June 2019 and are invited to attend a Leavers’ Farewell at the school on Tuesday 2 July 2019 from 2.30 pm until 4 pm.

Parents and carers of Students who plan to take study leave have received an acknowledgement slip, which should be completed and returned to school by Friday 3 May 2019, or replies can be emailed directly to jlee@sele.herts.sch.uk. Study leave will not be granted to Students until the acknowledgement slip has been returned.
